Great news, the 3rd annual Avalanche Awareness Ride and Auction are scheduled for February 7, 2009. Visit the Avalanche Awareness Website to sign up, donate to the Utah Avalanche Center and learn more about the event. We’ll ride and meet in the morning. Afterwards, we’ll have dinner at the Edge Motorsports. Dinner is provided, but bring your own beer.

Click here to go to the Avalanche Awareness Site.

The first goal of the Avalanche Event is to bring all backcountry users together to learn more about avalanches, how to recognize them, avoid them and if necessary, survive them. This is all accomplished during a snowmobile trip into the Wolf Creek, Utah area. We will learn more from Criag Gordon, watch in awe as Thunderstruck and Boondockers show off their skills. Once everyone has been brought together, the second goal can be fulfilled.

The second goal is to raise money for the Utah Avalanche Center to allow them to continue avalanche research and forecasting. After the Avalanche Ride, there will be an Avalanche Dinner. During the dinner there will be some door prizes, a silent auction and a live auction. In short, with Rocky Mtn Sledders, Boondockers, Thunderstruck and the Utah Avalanche Center…its gonna be a good time.
